The photos were taken in the Tumston Territorial Park in the north of Yukon. Marcel Gross, a 30-year-old amateur photographer from Switzerland, woke up in his tent on the roof of a car and saw a charming sight.

"When I woke up and opened the tent flap, I saw two grizzlies. I quickly went down the stairs, grabbed my camera and started taking pictures."

The photographer said that he was not at all afraid of the proximity of dangerous animals: "The day before they ate roots, berries and leaves and were completely calm about my presence, so I knew that everything would be fine."

"It was probably the most memorable moment of my 403-day trip to America."

"I've been watching the bears for at least an hour. When they started approaching the road, I got back in the car. And then one of the bears got up on his hind legs and started scratching. I was so surprised that I almost missed the best shots. But I quickly changed the lens and managed to catch the moment."
