Photographer Mariel Clayton has long suspected that something is wrong with the beautiful Barbie. Years have passed and recently there have been some clues that Mariel hastens to show in order to warn the public of the danger. People with a particularly sensitive psyche should refuse to view.
Dolls in the minds of most people are associated with something bright, kind, with memories from childhood. But photographer Mariel Clayton believes that they have their own dark side. To illustrate these guesses, she created a series of photographs in which she shows pages from the life of the bloodthirsty beauty Barbie.
As you know, beauty requires sacrifice. But no one said that these sacrifices should be made by the person who wants to be beautiful. In any case, this perverse thought becomes clear when looking at photographs of Mariel Clayton.
This photographer has chosen a seemingly banal subject for herself. She photographs dolls, and, specifically, dolls from the Barbie series: Barbie herself, Ken and others. But these photographs have very strange plots.
On all of them, the beautiful Barbie kills her beloved Ken in one way or another. The most popular plot is the beheading of a plastic suitor. But not only the sudden absence of the head is the only reason for the death of the doll. Ken also gets under the wheels of the car, and is killed by a washing machine. He is stabbed by Barbie herself, their joint children, as well as guests of the dollhouse.
Barbie boils Ken's head in a saucepan, washes it in a typewriter, bleeds blood from the body of a former partner, turns a still-living loved one into a slave. Sexual orgies and perversions, as well as alcohol and drugs, are not alien to the plastic beauty.
In general, this beautiful doll really has a very rich dark side of life.
It is not clear what exactly the photographer Mariel Clayton hates more: dolls or men.
