Miho Aikawa's parents worked hard, so they had little time to spend together. As a result, it became the main rule in their family to gather at a family dinner.

“As a teenager, I didn’t fully understand the importance of this rule. But now I realize that the dinner that we spent together as a family was of irreplaceable value to all of us and meant a lot to us. Dinner is not only food, this meal represents much more aspects of our life than lunch or breakfast, because dinner is the most important meal of the day. But food alone is not enough. The main question is: what is a quality dinner?

More than four years ago, Aikawa decided to pay more attention to this issue. She began photographing New Yorkers at dinner, focusing on "personal moments." Basically, her models are friends and friends of friends. She asks them to eat as usual, ignoring her. And then she realized that dinner tonight is not just the absorption of food. This is also a computer, Internet, TV and much more. How do you usually have dinner?
