Undulatus asperatus, also known as asperatus, is a rare type of cloud of an intimidating kind, proposed as a separate species in the classification of clouds in 2009. 

Scientists noticed that asperatus clouds began to appear frequently at the beginning of the 21st century. Despite their intimidating appearance, the appearance of such clouds is not accompanied by a thunderstorm and a hurricane, unlike their closest relatives, the undulatus clouds.
