Probably everyone has a friend who watches the same series as you, and loves to spoiler. Or maybe you've seen a movie and liked it so much that you'd like to watch it again without knowing the plot? It used to seem like a pipe dream, but now it's possible thanks to the UnSpoil Me service.

UnSpoil Me is a service developed by Samsung Electronics Nordic in collaboration with professional hypnotists. The creators of the service claim that with the help of hypnosis, a person will be able to forget the plot of a TV series or movie.

The hypnosis session lasts 18 minutes and begins with a soothing melodic voice of the hypnotist, prompting the user to think about a show or movie that he wants to forget. At this time, a rainbow spiral rotates on the screen. During hypnosis, you need to look at the center of the screen and focus on your thoughts.

Two TJ editors tested UnSpoil Me on themselves. Roman Persianinov tried to forget the series "Mad Men", which he recently revised, but it didn't work out.

No effect, I can easily recall the key plot points. But at the end, the voice said that before watching the show, it's worth sleeping to clear my mind, so maybe I don't feel the effect. But I feel an acute desire to take a nap for a few hours — but this is rather from eternal lack of sleep."

TJ editor Nikolai Chumakov tried to get rid of the memories of the series "The Big Bang Theory", and even went to bed according to the instructions.

Most likely, in a couple of days Samsung will announce the service as a "joke" and say that it was just mocking gullible users. Otherwise, why would I look at the screen for 20 minutes without doing anything and listen to banal hypnos from some Englishman."

Also, the UnSpoil Me service was used by an employee of the Cnet publication Katie Collins, who wanted to erase the plot of the series "Big Little Lies" from memory. But as a result of the experiment, not a single episode could be forgotten.

Perhaps the hypnosis session does not work because the user cannot fully relax or does not follow all the instructions. But, most likely, this is because the company does not hide that the creation of the service is a marketing ploy. Before the hypnosis session, the user learns that forgotten frames can be easily restored to memory by reviewing them on a new Samsung TV.
