Anniversary of VDNH: how it was

On August 1, VDNKh celebrated its 75th anniversary, and on this occasion, the Exhibition administration, with the support of the Moscow authorities, arranged a colorful three-day celebration. The park, divided into several zones, presented visitors with several festivals, art objects, musical performances and exhibitions at once. At the same time, Muscovites saw how VDNH changed after the first stage of reconstruction, during which dozens of buildings and pavilions were restored, fountains were repaired and cleaned, and modern cafes and food outlets replaced shawarma tents.

1. On the occasion of the anniversary, the administration has prepared souvenirs for every taste. Customers swept them off the shelves with incredible speed.

4. In the Main Pavilion, a stepped tower-library was erected according to the project of the artist Katya Bochavar. Dozens of people not only took pictures of the art object, but also used the library for its intended purpose.

6. However, lovers of reading gathered in the fresh air.

8. A dining area was organized next to the food court, in which the furniture was knocked together from wooden pallets. In total, several dozen cafes and fast food outlets worked during the holiday, not counting the gastronomic festival, which lasted all three days.

11. It was impossible not to pay attention to the number of young mothers and babies - the park was made as convenient as possible for walking with children.

12. In the reflection of this complex figure, the photographs were obtained with color filters already applied. Almost every visitor to the holiday has a similar picture on Instagram.

13. VDNKh is gradually turning into a resting place for cyclists. Even more of them came to the anniversary than on an ordinary day off.

15. The stage for the concert was built right in front of the layout of the Vostok rocket. It looked really exciting.

17. The layout of the aircraft has also become an equally interesting sight. Before the holiday, his livery was updated, painted in a patriotic palette.

18. The visiting exhibition of the Polytechnic Museum also attracted a significant number of visitors, although it remains open until 15 August.

20. The green theatre, which until recently stood in ruins and overgrown with wild trees, appeared before the visitors in a new guise. The first performances on the restored stage took place exactly on the days of the 75th anniversary of VDNKh.

23. However, most people were attracted, of course, by a musical concert, at which Sergey Lazarev, Nyusha, Victoria Daineko and many other groups and performers performed.

27. The end of the holiday was marked by a grandiose laser show: images of various eras were projected onto the Worker and Collective Farm Woman monument, which VDNKh has lived together with the whole country for 75 years.
