If you think that no one is sending letters in bottles anymore, then you are mistaken. For American Clint Buffington, the search for such messages has become a matter of life. Clint even quit his job to devote all his time to finding not only letters, but also their senders. And he tells the stories of the bottles found in his blog.

It all started in 2006, when Clint's parents found a bottle on the beach of one of the Caribbean islands while on vacation. It was one of 150,000 bottles that Guinness Brewing released into the Atlantic Ocean in honor of the anniversary in 1959.

Clint himself found his first bottle in 2007. It was a note from the Myers couple, who sent a letter in honor of their first wedding anniversary.

The story would have ended there, but Clint decided to find the senders. He advertised in the newspaper, and the Myers were found. At first, Clint corresponded with the couple, and a few years later they met. Clint, Ed and Carol became such friends that the Myers family even attended Buffington's wedding.

Clint runs a website where he writes stories of found notes. He says that the greatest joy for him is to find the sender. And the Myers are not the only ones who have been found. He found 25 people and even met with some in person.

Now Clint has 83 letters on his account. Sometimes he doesn't have time to meet with the senders. The oldest note from the 1970s was found in a bottle of Coca-Cola.
