Tessa Snyder is a 29—year-old model from Philadelphia, a happy wife and mother of two children. At the age of 11, the girl lost her leg, but instead of despairing, she began her life anew. Tessa admits that in the first months after the amputation, she had a very difficult time — classmates did not understand what happened to her, other guys looked at the girl and pointed, Tessa had practically no friends.

The cause of Tessa's disability was osteogenic sarcoma, which affected the femur of her right leg. For a long time, the schoolgirl lived without knowing about the terrible disease, only sometimes complained of strange pains that did not bother her much, until one day…

That day, Tessa's parents took her to the doctor, and the girl was prescribed a biopsy. Soon came the results of the analysis, which eventually completely turned her life around.

After that, chemotherapy courses began. Every session was a real torment for Tessa. Due to the side effects of some drugs, the girl's body rejected food, and she had to be fed through a tube.

Tessa was in the hospital five days a week, soon lost her long brown hair and felt just disgusting. It lasted about seven months. The parents, who regularly watched their daughter's torment, offered her an alternative option — amputation of a sick leg.

The parents showed the girl photos of people who had already gone through this and continued to live a normal life. Mom and Dad explained that Tessa would walk, run and play again, but it would take time, a lot of time.

2001 was a turning point for Tessa. Her father still remembers the moment when the girl was taken out of the operating room, and the first phrase she said:

Three months later, Tessa was informed that she had beaten cancer. Since then, her new life has begun.
