Amazing frozen waterfalls around the world
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/amazing-frozen-waterfalls-around-the-world.htmlWe are used to seeing waterfalls as seething columns of water falling down, raising water foam and fog around them, but in the cold winter many waterfalls turn into amazing icy wonders.
In Minnesota, Minneapolis, the 16 m high Minehaha Falls often freeze, creating an incredible wall of blue ice. Under the waterfall you can even go into a kind of “cave”. And although many frozen waterfalls can be visited just like that, for some this is not enough: many daredevils strive to conquer them. Every year, hundreds of similar climbers risk their lives for the adrenaline rush. Using only ice axes and crampons, these climbers scale huge frozen columns and walls of water.
