He professes an animistic religion known as Doni-Polo, which means "Sun-Moon". Photographer Cesar Wyszynski managed to take stunning pictures of Apatani women.
A distinctive feature of their appearance until recently was considered to be plugs in their noses and tattoos applied along the face.
According to legend, it was in this way in ancient times that the elders of the people decided to fight the constant theft of enviable brides, whom the men of neighboring tribes considered to be written beauties.
Apatani men forced their girls to pierce their noses and insert plugs into the holes, which are called Yaping Hullo, and also put tattoos on their faces from the top of the forehead to the bottom of the chin.
It was believed that, having seen the face of the beauties disfigured in this way, the kidnappers would abandon their insidious plans.
This ancient tradition continued until the 1970s, when it gradually faded away.
Together with these elderly women, a whole era of Apatani's life will go down in history.
