Absolute hearing: Audiophile spent 25 years creating a stereo system with the purest sound

Audiophiles are people who place high demands on the quality of sound reproduction. For them, the enjoyment of various sound shades is akin to the pleasure of gourmets while eating delicacies. For American Ken Fritz, music is the main passion of life. For 25 years, he has been creating the perfect stereo system for listening to his favorite tracks. What he did is considered the most perfect sound design in the world.

Ken was already in high school making improved versions of music speakers, and as he grew up, he turned his hobby into a successful business. Over time, the 79 – year-old resident of Virginia realized his main dream-to design the best sound system in the world. The device was highly appreciated by both professionals and fellow audiophiles. It took him 25 years to create a unique design.

Despite the rather compact size, as for the most impressive stereo system, the sound reproduction is really impressive. To create ideal acoustic conditions, the American has arranged a special room in his house. In addition to the exquisite design, the room is packed with special equipment, which many do not even know about.

The ceiling here is the same as in the concert hall in Osaka. The height of the room is 3.5 m in the center and increases in five different planes to 5.3 m in the far part of the room. The side walls are set at an angle to reduce the echo. There are a lot of raised surfaces in the room, so that the sound waves propagate in the right way.

The walls are constructed of cinder blocks 30.5 cm thick and reinforced with metal wire. Each vertical opening is filled with concrete and supported by rebar and crate. The floor is covered with a 20-centimeter layer of concrete, and the rafters on the ceiling stretch across the room. The walls are equipped with a fiberglass sound insulation system.

Apart from the stereo system, there is nothing else in the room. The installation consists of three 2.7 m high speakers with a power of 35,000 watts, and a 680 kg record player that Ken made with his own hands. The owner of the unique design says that it cost him a small fortune. Nevertheless, he does not spare any money spent, no effort, no long years of work. The American considers his grandiose creation the main achievement in life.

To satisfy the tastes of real music lovers, technicians do not stop working on the invention of new gadgets. Bone conduction headphones have become a real breakthrough in the world of music technology.
