Mikhail Shmelev aka tibetmonk writes: “I love landscape photography for the fragility of the moment and unexpected gifts. First, you look out for the angle and navigate by the sun - where and when to expect it. You study the situation. You come during the regime time, you wait for the light, you wait for the moment. And where and how the plot will manifest itself is an intrigue to the end. In one place, a cloud covered the sun, and in another, due to this, a tremendous light appeared. And everything changes in a matter of minutes - you pick up a tripod and change position. It is only at first glance that landscape photography seems unhurried and measured =)
So here - I was so absorbed in the colors of the sky that I did not notice how a big wave crept up. The ocean often indulges in this way: there are several ordinary waves similar to each other, then a lull may form, after which a larger wave will come.

1. I saw the wave in my picture (see above). I saw it and thought again - wow, how big it came out =) I suspected something was wrong and looked towards the ocean just in time. After a few seconds, this wave got me.
2. I don’t remember how, but during this time I managed to jump five meters back, to a hill, and raise the camera above my head. I pick it up and see my backpack on a stone in front of me, ready to meet the elements. The last thought was - "it shouldn't be carried into the ocean - there is a telephoto at the bottom of the backpack, and it's heavy =)" But the elements spared my fragile belongings - retreated, leaving the backpack dry
3. I called such a wandering wave, multiplying in size due to resonance with its fellows, "stray". In order not to get up twice, I'll show you a couple more pictures of a crazy wave. Today, for example, there is quite a strong surf, and a proud fisherman is preparing to take a photo of large waves.
4. But suddenly a crazy wave comes, which he obviously did not order
5. Let's award him the victory in the competition of wet T-shirts (and panties at the same time =)) To meet such a "shower" standing on a rock is not a very pleasant thing! Well, you need to click the film
6. You have already seen this frame, here is also a good example of a crazy wave (and nerves of steel)
7. I shot the previous shot standing on a stone. But this Indonesian thrill-seeker was walking on the sand below and did not have time to hide. Now he will feel an unprecedented freshness
8. See how tense he is? By the way, he shot with Nikon ... Well, here she is, dear
9. Refreshing
10. And here is your humble servant. Landscape photography is a measured and leisurely activity =))
11. So you
12. Got off, you can rest
13. Another plot. "Moor!" - Go nafik, moor yourself !!"
14. Power, beauty
15. Tickled the nerves of the audience - do not forget about yourself
16. "Photographer, I'm here!"
17. Don't know how to wash and mop the floor at the same time?
18. Another shot "a gift to the photographer"
19. But in general, when a large wave hits the shore until you shudder, this feeling is mesmerizing
20. I want to return to the ocean in order to feel this feeling again and again.
21. And in the morning the next day in the same place you may be met by a warm and gentle calm.
