A sex maniac who kept a Russian city in fear for 14 years has been detained

The rapist, who operated from 2004 to 2018 in the city of Strezhevoy, Tomsk region, has finally been detained. Information about the capture of a sexual maniac appeared on the website of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR). It is known that 20 women and teenagers became victims of the criminal, but it is likely that in fact there are much more victims.

In the city of oil workers Strezhevoy, which is home to a little more than 40 thousand people, it is incredibly difficult to hide from justice. But as it turned out, the secret of the rapist's elusiveness was simple. 60-year-old Valentin B. since 1979 worked in the city criminal investigation department, and then in the security services of various commercial structures associated with the oil and gas industry.

Valentin started raping while still working in the criminal investigation department. Professional skills and access to classified information allowed the scoundrel to slip out from under the very nose of law enforcement and feel relatively safe. The maniac went to the "case", taking with him a black balaclava mask and a knife.

In choosing victims, the maniac was not particularly picky — both women and teenage girls became his victims. Threatening the victim with a cold weapon, the criminal did his dirty work and immediately disappeared. Since the investigators were sure that the rapes were committed by a local resident, for three years law enforcement officers took saliva from all the men of the city.

The criminal managed to avoid genotypic examination, but still he made a mistake that gave him away. One of the victims of the maniac actively resisted him and tore off the mask during the struggle. The woman remembered the attacker's face and was able to identify him.

The last doubts were dispelled by the DNA examination of saliva, which indicated that the biological materials at the crime scenes were left by Valentin B., an employee of the economic security department of Tomskneft. Now the maniac is under arrest and testifies to investigators.

For the criminal, the arrest was a complete surprise

He has already been charged with two counts of rape and two cases of sexual assault. In total, the maniac is checked for 20 cases of rape, but there is no guarantee that all the victims who suffered from the actions of the attacker contacted the police.

A retired maniac from the Tomsk region operated up to 60 years - for a rapist, this is a solid age. However, he is far from an Australian colleague who almost raped his victim at the age of 102.
