A Russian woman has come up with a mechanical "cat's tongue" that will replace taking a shower or a bath

A simple Russian student Irina Samoylova became a finalist of the international Lexus Design Award 2020 competition, presenting to the jury a unique device called Lick. This compact device allows a person to wash without a bath or shower and uses the principle of cat's tongue in its work.

Externally, the Lick device looks like a shell of an outlandish marine mollusk, and inside it there is a cunning mechanism and containers with washing liquid. The working part of the machine resembles a cat's tongue in structure and color. Irina's development provides high-quality washing of exposed and hard-to-reach parts of the body and even places covered with hair.

The inventor of the Lick device believes that it will help people to observe the rules of personal hygiene where it is not possible to use ordinary amenities. Passengers of long-distance trains and tourists who now have to endure a lot of inconveniences will surely appreciate the development.

The principle of operation of Irina's invention resembles a brush for cleaning the face, but its working part, made of silicone, does not just vibrate, but rotates, constantly moistening the surface of the body with liquid from the reservoir and immediately collecting it back together with dirt.

Irina took up the problem of bathing without water because of her grandmother, who is bedridden. The girl is sure that with Lick, caring for such patients will become easier and more effective. While the device is a concept, but very soon the inventor, together with Lexus, will begin to create the first working version. In the future, Samoylova wants to present her brainchild at the Milan Design Week 2020 exhibition in Italy.

I would like bright minds to devote more time to inventing such devices that improve life, rather than creating deadly weapons, of which there are already a lot in the world today.
