Each year National Geographic holds a contest for the best travel photographer of the year. Photographers from all over the world send in edition of their exciting work. Judges select the photos that inspire and tell a story where they are made.

"Lady Of Havana". Lauren Breedlove: "During a recent trip to Cuba I was walking around Old Havana and noticed on the street this confident woman. Something about her struck me: her eyes seemed to keep a million stories. I didn't have any cash and I took another little thing and came to the Cuban with a request to photograph her. She nodded and I began to pose like from the Director's chair with a cigar and everything."

"Another rainy day in Nagasaki, Kyushu". Hiro Kurashina: "It is the view of the main street of Nagasaki city tram.
