The method turned out to be so reliable that it worked without failures for several years. The couple received millions from the authorities and did not deny themselves anything. Perhaps the idyll would have continued further, but the scammers were let down by banal vanity and social networks.

Las Vegas residents Latisha and Timothy met in 2017 and registered their relationship a year later. At the time of meeting Timothy, Latisha had her own business — two companies registered in 2010 in North Carolina and engaged in the provision of medical services. However, Agape Healthcare Systems, Inc. and Assured Healthcare Systems did not provide any services to Americans, since their goal was to enrich the owner.

Enterprising Latisha has registered both of her companies in the state Medicaid program, which covers the costs of medical care for people in need. At the same time, when making the contract, the woman hid the fact that she has a criminal record for stealing personal data. Timothy was also far from a saint and by the time he met the woman, he had already served time.

In general, Timothy and Latisha were perfect for each other and soon after the start of married life, they came up with a brilliant idea. The Medicaid program had some weaknesses and the scammers decided to use them in the spirit of the hero of the movie "The Wolf of Wall Street".

In the film, DiCaprio's character needed only a phone to earn money, but the Harrons needed only the Internet. The couple searched the web for obituaries, and then checked the data of the deceased with the Medicaid database. After that, using the person's identification number, the crooks received money from the fund for providing fictitious services provided to the patient before his death.Such a scheme looks somehow doubtful and unreliable, but, as it turned out, it worked without failures. From 2017 to 2019, the family managed to siphon about $ 13 million (approximately 917 million rubles) from the state. Everything would have been fine, but the scammers were let down by the desire to boast of their success, which has already ruined more than one criminal.

The couple started posting photos of a luxurious life on Instagram and Facebook. The pictures against the background of 27 boxes of Tiffany & Co products, in luxury brand clothes and even near a private jet worth 900 thousand dollars (63.1 million rubles) left no one in doubt that the Harrons' life was a success.It all ended with the fact that the couple's purchases interested law enforcement officers and for Latishey and Timothy set up surveillance. It took very little time for the authorities to determine where they get money for excesses, and the family of crooks was arrested on May 19, 2020.
