Otherwise, how else can we explain the appearance of strange creatures that look like other creatures that… Well, you get it.
At first glance, the Pleco jellyfish looks like Cthulhu: pitch black and with tentacles instead of a mouth. In fact, the jellyfish uses its tentacles to search for food, and it itself is very useful for the reservoir, as it purifies the water. However, Pleco jellyfish cannot get along together, so keeping them in the same aquarium can lead to the death of one of the individuals.
This funny animal is not an animal at all — it is a planktonic squid living at the very bottom of the ocean. These squids are also called cockatoo squids, they have huge eyes and a small tuft on their head. They feed mainly on small fish, which they catch with developed and strong tentacles. Cockatoo squids reach about five centimeters in length.
These creatures are not cute enough to have as a pet, but also not disgusting enough to kill with a shovel. In fact, they look more like worms than lizards. This species feeds on small insects and other lizards.
And Mexican mole lizards are the scariest animals on the island of Baja. According to local legends, they climb into the human intestinal tract, move around the colon and eat organs. Of course, this is not true and mole lizards are actually completely harmless.
Okapi looks more like a giraffe, they have big ears, a long tongue that allows you to pluck leaves from trees, and small horns. Okapi have a chocolate shade of wool, and they have stripes on their limbs, like a zebra. Due to the color and reflection of sunlight from the coat, okapi is difficult for predators and large animals to notice. In addition, they are solitary creatures who prefer to stay away from humans.
The elephant shrew has the body of a mouse, the nose of an anteater and the paws of a deer. They live in South Africa, and as the name suggests, are close to the proboscis family. Elephant shrews feed on insects, and use a long nose and tongue to search for food. After the cubs are born, they leave the "father's house" in a couple of days, live and hunt on their own.
This creature looks more like a tuft of red hair, but in fact it is a crab with reddish fur. The hairs are used to collect plankton, the main food source. When crabs lose their hairs (this happens with age), follicles remain on the claws, helping to survive and ideal for finding food.
The crested differs from the seal by the presence of a large skin growth on the muzzle. During the mating season, the Ukrainian inflates its skin sac like a frog and makes sounds resembling croaking. These animals settle in families near the Arctic ice and feed on fish and shellfish.
Gurnard lives in the ocean. He has wings, but he prefers flying to walking-what are called wings are actually fins. Gurnards are able to make grunting and wheezing sounds to communicate with each other. They feed on shellfish, small fish and crustaceans.
