One of the most beautiful lakes in the world is the Sea Eye, which is located in a blue-green valley in the Polish part of the Tatras. In summer, around the lake you can watch the sarns, who come here to feast on the delicate vegetation. On one of the mountains there is a dilapidated hut that once belonged to the Polish scientist, writer and philosopher Stanislaw Staszyc.

Lake Powell is located in the United States, on the border of the states of Utah and Arizona. This is an artificial pond surrounded by colorful rocks, and its bright blue water contrasts very strongly with the desert sands and green cacti. This place is full of wild animals, especially playful fish hiding under the surface of the water.

This unusual lake lies in the Rift Valley in a National Park in Kenya. It is famous for millions of pink flamingos that cover the surface of the water and it seems as if fuchsia spots have formed on it. The locals — the Maasai — call Lake Nakuru a "dusty place". Here you can also see black terns, vast flocks of pelicans, cormorants and grebes, and on the shore you can "meet" black rhinos, hyenas, lions, leopards, baboons, zebras and elephants.

Swiss lakes are famous all over the world for their exceptional beauty. Lake Lucerne is unique — its stunning color rather resembles the waters of the Caribbean, and all because in spring the waters from melting mountain glaciers flow directly into the lake. Here you can also enjoy the view of ancient bridges, blooming terraces, a quaint embankment and a jagged railway that leads to the village of Rigi Kaltbad, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake.

Lake Saimaa is only a 2.5—hour drive from Helsinki, the capital of Finland, but arriving here, it seems as if you have entered a completely different world. The lake is surrounded by lush green forests, and the shore is strewn with mökki — wooden houses in a rustic style. The lake is especially beautiful in summer, and its warm water, whose temperature reaches 20 degrees Celsius in summer, attracts families with children here. People come here to enjoy the beautiful scenery, swim in surprisingly warm water, pick blueberries in the surrounding forests, and also catch trout.
