Look at the girl in this photo. At first it seems that she is real, but in fact this is a miniature copy of a real girl, printed on a 3D printer!

German company Twinkind uses 360-degree scanning and 3D printing technology to create small figurines that are replicas of their customers, Wired reports. The figurine in full color and volume conveys all the details - from the pose and facial expression to the slightest folds on the clothes.

The founders of Twinkind, Christina Neuror and Timo Schadel, were inspired by miniature figurines printed at Omote's 3D photo booth in Tokyo. Twinkind's 3D printing technology is more precise than in Tokyo, but the creators still ask their customers not to come to the "shoot" in silk, tulle or chiffon. They also ask them to remove their glasses during the scan, as they are printed separately to create a more believable image. After scanning, Twinkind creates a digital model of the client, which can be edited and sent to print.
