Modern "abandoned buildings" have nothing to do with the ruins of antiquity, which archaeologists cherish so much. Despite the danger of visiting abandoned places, every extreme knows at least a dozen locations where "no human foot has set foot" for a long time. Some places were emptied after production or mining stopped, others because of climate change and other reasons.
