By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/14-hot-shots-from-the-world-of-burlesque.htmlTraditionally, London hosts a burlesque festival, in other words, a “parody festival”, “comedy festival”, or as it is most often pronounced here, “a striptease festival”. The word burlesque itself is translated as a joke, a parody. We are talking about performances that are humorous in nature, where several artists take part with their numbers. This style of holding the festival was characteristic of the art of Western Europe and America from the mid-19th to the mid-20th centuries. The actresses were so popular that their beauty was considered an ideal, and they themselves flaunted on all kinds of posters and posters. Shining in every performance, they seemed inaccessible and therefore more desirable. Wonderful outfits, corsets decorated with gold and jewels, huge feather crowns on their heads made the actresses the queens of the celebration, they could afford to flirt with the guests right during their performances. This is a truly breathtaking sight.
