We contacted Adela and asked her a couple of questions about her work. First, we wanted to know how the artist approaches the process of finding inspiration for her illustrations. We learned that: “I don’t search for inspirations - I have to say I’m pretty lucky because usually the ideas just pop up in my head. Some of them happen to be worth pursuing, some of them not necessarily, but I guess it’s just part of the creative process.”

The illustrator walked us through her creative process from idea generation to final artwork: “As I mentioned, the ideas happen to just pop up in my mind, usually alongside with some graphics. My notebooks, as well as my iPhone notes, have plenty of random catchwords or slogans, that I’m trying to decode afterward. Then comes the analog sketching process, and finally, the digital drawing made in Adobe Illustrator.”

Lastly, we asked Madej to tell us more about some upcoming projects or plans in the realm of illustration. The artist told us: “Currently I’m working on my very first t-shirt collection, and I’m excited to finally have my own merch. I also have some upcoming projects, and all of them happen to be food-themed - you’ll see them soon, hopefully.”
