But what can you say about such a job, where it is not only possible to drink, but also necessary? And what will you say to an employer who directly indicates: today, take it on your chest, my friend? Yes, such work is not only in fairy tales. Here are some examples of such positions that almost every one of us would not refuse (hand on heart).
Let's start with the simplest. The sommelier, in order to describe the wine in a truly professional way, must try it. And not only at work: there are so many types of this drink in the world that you will have to improve your skills almost every day! Of course, a professional sommelier tries not to swallow the tasted drink. But who said that you have already reached such a level of professionalism?
Technically, becoming a sommelier is quite simple. It is enough to have an interest in wine (eat), be able to drink (of course) and have at least a minimal taste (we will work out!). Specialized courses will also not hurt, after passing which you will eventually be able to send away the tired office and step on the not very smooth path of a wine specialist.
A controversial, but well-deserved profession on our list. Many famous writers have never hidden their addiction to alcohol. Hemingway, Remarque, Marquez, Dovlatov and Salinger, not to mention the old scoundrel Henry Chinaski, could drink right while working. So, as soon as you find a grain of talent in yourself, feel free to start feeding it with the fruits of Dionysus.
Perhaps the most obvious possibility is to drink right at the workplace from evening to morning. For a bartender, the main thing is to be able to mix cocktails and, of course, establish relationships with customers. A high tolerance to alcohol will be very useful: otherwise, you will not last even a week in such a job.
Like a bartender, a chef may well take a sip of a bottle of amontillado right during work. Of course, only if after a couple of glasses you don't start pouring pepper into everything, like a duchess from Wonderland.
These guys are drinking more than you think. The hard work that all project participants are forced to do in order to achieve at least self-sufficiency requires detente. That's why even established startups like the largest Yelp allow employees to drink beer right during the break. Not a bad lunch hour: a ping-pong table and a couple of beers, right?
Specialty stores of high-quality alcohol often arrange tastings for their employees. A couple of days a week seasoned with good old alcohol is guaranteed to you for sure. And to get such a job, it is enough just to look for vacancies in the labor market thoroughly: they will teach everything else on the spot.
It is quite difficult to become a restaurant critic — at least you should already have an audience that listens to your authoritative opinion of people. Well, some knowledge of the culinary business also does not hurt. It is quite possible to work out both, and the result is really worth it. In addition to free food in the best restaurants of the city, you will also receive alcohol from the corresponding menu. The main thing is not to overdo it.
The growing popularity of the position of a professional blogger implies that you should tell people about interesting things. Where to spend your vacation, which restaurants to go to and, most importantly, where the most delicious cocktails are served. To become a professional travel blogger, you only need the desire and ability to find interesting topics for others. Step over this rather low entrance threshold and start creating a career-with a glass of Negroni in one hand and a tablet in the other.
Brewing your own beer is a fun idea, but even such an activity can become a routine, and quite soon. Unless, of course, you decide to taste your product. In addition, many brewing companies offer their employees a tasting of new types of beer, which can make you the guy who tried a new drink even before it became popular. But it will not be so easy to get such a job. You really should love beer and understand the technology of its preparation. It does not hurt to grow a beard-just to maintain the image.
Not every sale can afford to drink at work. But if you work as a successful salesperson in a large business, you know that transactions are made most often in bars, and not at a desk. It is easiest to conclude a profitable contract, to sign the necessary contract in an atmosphere of trust and friendliness. It is very difficult to become such a professional, to whom the head gives carte blanche for any ways to achieve his goal — but the work is really worth it.
