10 things that are forbidden to do according to the Bible

We seem to live in a civilized society. And we even more or less observe the 10 commandments: we do not kill, we do not steal, we do not... well, and so on. But for some reason, society is still irreconcilable with regard to many things.

Tattoos

Yes, yes, death is due for this. In general, a good half of the civilized and not very civilized society has been sentenced for many years. Do you think that there is such a thing in a cute butterfly on the ass or in a formidable dragon on the shoulder? It's just a beautiful picture, and you can always appeal to the fact that "look at the samurai", but the Japanese are Shintoists, everything is different for them, and it's said: "Do not make cuts on your body and do not impale writing on yourself. I am the Lord" (Leviticus 19: 28).

Trimming of moustaches and beards (as well as model haircuts)

To be a true Christian is essentially to remain a caveman, because the Bible very often tells us that we need to take care not about the appearance, but about the soul. After all, the same Leviticus, a severe book and generous with all kinds of prohibitions, says: "Do not cut your head around, and do not spoil the edges of your beard" (Leviticus 19:27).

Fortune tellers and horoscopes

But do not say that you have never gone to a fortune teller or, well, have not read the horoscope on the last page of a newspaper or magazine. Even if you don't believe it, there isn't a single person on earth who hasn't glimpsed — and what will happen next week at the twins'? However, Leviticus also has its own rule for this: "Do not turn to those who call the dead, and do not go to wizards, and do not bring yourself to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God" (Leviticus 19: 31).

Disabled people

Well, not all of them, but only with specific problems, similar to the one that happened to the hero of Hemingway's novel "Fiesta". This happens infrequently, but if suddenly some veteran of some war was torn off by an explosion of his manhood (or part of it), then he can no longer hope for the Kingdom of Heaven: "Whoever has his yatra crushed or his childbearing member cut off cannot enter the society of the Lord" (Deuteronomy 23:1).

A wife helping her husband during a fight

We know how women fight — they use all methods to win for sure: they grab their hair, scratch out their eyes, beat between their legs. Oops, but this is just — God forbid. If the next time you inadvertently fight in front of your faithful and she rushes to help you, keep her away from the causal places of her opponent, because it is said: "When men are fighting among themselves, and the wife of one comes to take her husband out of the hands of him who is beating him, and stretches out her hand and seizes him by the shameful ood, then cut off her hand: let not your eye spare her" (Deuteronomy 25:11-12).

Ham, rabbit meat and much more

What did you think? True Christians, like Muslims and Jews, should not eat pork and rabbit meat. No way! First, it is delicious, and secondly: "Only do not eat these of those who chew cud and have cloven hooves: a camel, because it chews cud, but its hooves are not cloven, it is unclean to you... and a hare, because it chews cud, but its hooves are not cloven, it is unclean to you; and a pig, because its hooves are cloven and there is a deep cut on its hooves, but it does not chew chewing gum, it is unclean to you; do not eat their meat, and do not touch their corpses; they are unclean to you" (Leviticus 11:3-8).

Do you live in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal or in Sochi, Yevpatoria, after all? Are you going to relax in Thailand, on the islands or in India? Congratulations! You will stay hungry! In fact, the same applies to those who are used to putting shrimps with garlic under a steamed glass of beer, because "all those who have no feathers and scales, whether in the seas or rivers, of all those who swim in the waters and of all those who live in the waters, are filthy to you; they must be filthy to you: do not eat their meat and abhor their corpses" (Leviticus 11:10-11). Instead, Leviticus suggests eating locusts. Well, this, frankly speaking, is very much for an amateur.

Remarry or get married

Do you think that an official marriage has ever saved the situation? No. In the Bible, in general, everything that concerns the relationship between the sexes is under a lot of strange prohibitions. Now, after several unsuccessful attempts at relationships, having finally met your only/only one and flying on the wings of love to make an offer, think hard about whether you need it: "He said to them: whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery from her; and if a wife divorces her husband and marries another, commits adultery" (Mark 10:11-12). Well, as for adultery, you already know — a mortal sin.

Getting married is not a virgin

Nowadays it is almost impossible to find a virgin bride. And who, to be honest, needs it like this? Marrying a "girl" is like playing roulette: if you are lucky — you will not be lucky. And if you are suddenly unlucky, then read the commandments of Moses, especially regarding adultery. Yes, and you, young ladies, be afraid, because: "If what is said is true, and there is no virginity in the girl, then let the girl be brought to the door of her father's house, and the inhabitants of her city will stone her to death, for she has done a shameful thing among Israel, having committed fornication in her father's house; and [so] destroy evil from among yourself" (Deuteronomy 22:21-22).

Work on Saturdays

Another law that Christians share in half with Jews. It is forbidden to work on Saturdays, that is, on Shabbat. But is this really possible in our society, where everything is built on workaholism and a sincere desire not to lose your job? So you seriously think that there are people somewhere who work only from Monday to Friday from 9 to 5? Now, if the boss detains you on Friday evening (aha, Shabbat comes with the sunset on Friday) or, God forbid, on Saturday to finish a burning project, you can safely say that you want to live longer, because: "And keep the Sabbath, for it is holy for you: whoever defiles it, let him be betrayed."
