You can travel around Russia endlessly — its beauty and variety of landscapes are inexhaustible. At the same time, the best way to get into the spirit of unique places is the good old hiking. There are routes in the most beautiful corners of the country, where there are pointers, guidebooks and guides to help travelers.

We have selected for you 10 of the most beautiful walking routes in Russia. It remains only to buy a backpack — and off we go!

There are a lot of interesting and unusual things in the reserve, and therefore there are many hiking routes. One of the most famous starts from the base at the foot of the Karymsky volcano. Then tourists go to the Valley of Geysers through waterfalls and lakes for several days.

The miracles do not end there: amazing stone monasteries and churches were hollowed out right in the chalk Divas in the middle of the 17th century. These unique structures seem to preserve the very spirit of antiquity and holiness. The monks lived here very ascetically: in the stone cells the temperature was the same in winter and summer — no higher than 15 degrees.

The main ways to get acquainted with the Ergaks run through the lakes Raduzhnoye and Bright, in the vicinity of which there are tent camps equipped for tourists.

For beginners, a small (15 km), but picturesque Listvyanka — Bolshye Koty route is suitable. The trail sometimes runs along steep banks, but it is equipped with stairs and small bridges. Those who wish can continue their journey, and waterfalls, crystal mountain rivers, ancient petroglyphs and rare animals await them on the shores of Lake Baikal. There is wonderful fishing and diving here. For lovers of heights there are beautiful mountain routes along the ridges of the Baikal region.
