10 Most Aggressive Dog Breeds

By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/10-most-aggressive-dog-breeds.htmlAny dog can bite. It is a fact. However, some dogs are more likely to do this than others. It may sound like a surprise, but the most aggressive dog breeds are not necessarily the most dangerous breeds. In fact, truly dangerous dogs are less aggressive. Below is a ranking of the 10 most aggressive dog breeds in the world.
1. Dachshund
Surprise! According to a recent study, this small burrowing dog has been ranked as the most aggressive breed in the world. And despite the fact that the dachshund cannot seriously harm a person, no matter how hard it bites, this little monster is known for its hatred of strangers. As it turned out, one out of 5 dachshunds bit a stranger at least once in their life, and one out of 12 attacked their own owner.
2. Chihuahua
In second place is another breed that hardly anyone can take seriously. When it comes to aggressiveness, few dogs can surpass the Chihuahua. In fact, you are more likely to be bitten by a Chihuahua than a Doberman!
3. Jack Russell Terrier
Small breeds compensate for their small size with aggressiveness. Third in the list of the most aggressive dogs in the world was another "toy" dog, and not at all a pit bull or bulldog, as expected. The Jack Russell Terrier is… a terrier and that says it all: terriers don't tolerate rough handling at all and will fight back fiercely. Therefore, watch out for children who can play quite brutally with four-legged pets.
4. Giant Schnauzer
Not only are Giant Schnauzers aggressive (especially towards other dogs, but towards strangers too), but they are also quite large dogs, which makes them twice as dangerous as any of the breeds mentioned above! Moreover, this service breed requires special training, and, accordingly, it needs special control. Because of their large size and loud, intimidating bark, Giant Schnauzers are considered good guard dogs.
5. Rottweiler
The Rottweiler is one of the most popular breeds in the world. These four-legged are truly amazing dogs. However, it is worth bearing in mind that the Rottweiler can behave aggressively towards other dogs, and given its strength, this can sometimes lead to unpleasant consequences. What's more, the Rottweiler is fiercely protective of its owner, and this can manifest itself in aggression towards strangers if the dog senses that its owner is in danger.
6. Chow-chow
Chow Chows look attractive and cute. But it is not so. An adult Chow Chow is not a dog that can be trusted, especially when it comes to children and strangers: they are very irritable and prove their right to food by aggressiveness. In addition, they are naturally good defenders and will not allow anyone to approach their owners or their territory. You may be surprised to see Chow Chows on this list, but the truth is that they are still one of the most aggressive dog breeds in the world.
7 Pitbull
While fans of the breed often praise the character, gentleness and friendliness of pit bulls, no one can deny that pit bulls do have aggressive instincts. While the Pit Bull may be a family dog that is non-aggressive, it can be very aggressive towards other dogs and strangers. It is believed that this dog can distinguish friends from enemies, but, nevertheless, small animals (cats and rabbits) are prey for them, and this should not be forgotten. If you are an experienced dog breeder and are determined to get this dog, you will be pleasantly surprised.
8. Papillon
This decorative stylish dog actually bites very hard! Papillons are especially aggressive towards children because they get irritated very quickly and will not tolerate any bullying. In addition, Papillons are possessive and actively protect their owners, which can lead to attacks on outsiders.
9 Cocker Spaniel
Cockers are one of the most beloved family pets. They protect their owners well, but not so much to call them aggressive. Nevertheless, Cocker Spaniels made it into the top ten thanks to a genetic disease: some dogs of this breed are prone to "rage syndromes." This disease is very dangerous and leads to sudden attacks of dogs on their owners. If a spaniel develops this disease, then the only way out, unfortunately, is to euthanize the animal.
10 Doberman Pinscher
The Doberman has an undeserved bad reputation, but recently this negative image is gradually fading due to the fact that many people have this dog as a pet, so his traditional role as a guard dog is fading into the background. However, it was no coincidence that Dobermans were used as guard dogs. Dobermans are good protectors of their owners and instinctively understand when the owner is really in danger. But Dobermans can be aggressive towards other dogs or strangers, so keep a close eye on them.
