Zambians caught and killed a male werewolf
Many are sure that the Middle Ages with its witch hunts and werewolves are far behind, and fighters against evil spirits can be found only in movies and on the pages of books. The villagers from Zambia easily proved the opposite by catching a werewolf and immediately tearing it apart according to good old customs.
Zambia, formerly called Northern Rhodesia, is located in southern Africa and is one of the poorest countries on the Black continent. More than 82% of the country's population lives below the poverty line, and most of it lives in its own world, settled for centuries, inhabited by spirits, werewolves and sorcerers.
Despite this, the Zambians have no lack of courage. When a crocodile killed a 20-year-old girl fishing by the river in the village of Samfya in Luapula province, local residents staged a real roundup of the culprit of the tragedy and within a few days he was caught.
None of them were confused by the fact that instead of a man-eating reptile, 36-year-old Changani Musenge, who regularly hung around the pond with some known goals, fell into their hands. After a short and superficial investigation, it became clear that it was the man who attacked the young fisherman, turning into a large crocodile for this.
Of course, the Zambian peasants did not tolerate this and immediately lynched the "werewolf" using fists, stones and sticks. When, according to the statement of the deceased's sister, 34-year-old Charity Chibale, the police finally arrived in the village, the corpse was buried in the ground with all the necessary ritual precautions, and the werewolf hunters calmly went about their daily business.
The villagers willingly volunteered to cooperate with the investigation. The elder of the settlement Samfya, who is the father of the girl who died in the teeth of a crocodile, as well as one of the local youths, told in detail about the incident and even presented the grave of a werewolf to law enforcement officers. The police took the statements made seriously, and until it becomes clear whether the deceased could transform into reptiles, they are in no hurry to arrest anyone.
Locals believe that there are people who, if desired, can turn into crocodiles, hippos or other wild animals that are their totem.
