Xiaomi presented a budget jacket with heating, and the Russian network came up with an even cheaper option
Well, the future we deserve has already arrived. Very soon there will come a time when, coming home from work, the average citizen will put on charging not only a phone, smartwatch, tablet, headphones, but also a jacket.
Now you can forget about sweaters: Xiaomi has developed a heated unisex jacket that everyone can afford. This is not Apple with their exorbitant prices for gadgets: outerwear with an internal heater from a Chinese company will cost customers less than $ 100. But netizens went even further, and came up with their own version for 300 rubles.
Actually, such innovative clothing does not represent something super-unique: heated jackets have already been produced in Europe, the USA and even Russia. But it is the Chinese who are going to make it a mass product.
On Tuesday, September 18, a division of Xiaomi in Shanghai presented a new development – a smart jacket. The project was created in cooperation with Runmi Technology, which is engaged in the production of travel bags. The task was to make a jacket capable of withstanding a large temperature difference. It had to be durable, moisture-repellent, protecting the owner from wind and cold. The problem was precisely in the last point.
They got out of the situation in a very original way – they added an internal heater with a 10 thousand mAh battery to the lining. This will allow you to keep the jacket in the maximum heating mode for more than 8 hours, which is quite enough time to survive, for example, a night in the tundra (but it is not entirely clear in what month). The heating elements are located at the neck and lower back, but the heat spreads evenly through the jacket.
Finance for development is collected through crowdfunding. The final cost of a stylish, gray-black unisex jacket was 549 yuan, approximately 79 dollars (5.2 thousand rubles).
The key advantage of the novelty lies in the additional heating. Finally, you can safely throw away all these uncomfortable, prickly and hot sweaters. At the same time, the project provides for several ventilation zones to avoid overheating.
The material and the heating system have passed a full range of safety studies for the owner. The lining hides a built-in sensor that will automatically stop heating after the maximum possible level. The limit of the injected temperature is 50 degrees Celsius.
Sales will begin in China on October 15, 2018. It is not yet known whether there will be exports to the CIS and what the cost of the goods will be in the end. One thing is for sure, manufacturers of more expensive jackets will not be thrilled!
And netizens are already planning even more budget options for insulation:
