Why do we need special masks with a transparent window
Face masks make it impossible for deaf people to lip-read what others are saying. Fortunately, someone came up with a solution. Graphic designer Justine Bate from Manchester made face masks with plastic inserts at mouth level to help herself and her 10-year-old daughter Theone. Both mother and daughter are deaf. When people found out about this project, such masks quickly became popular.
Justin's 50-year—old husband, Carl, who is also her guardian, also wears such a mask.
On May 27, Justine sold 42 masks at a price of 5.99 pounds sterling apiece, which is about 500 rubles (including packaging and postage).
