"Vodka" beach in Primorje — from landfill bottles to the tourist attraction
In the Ussuri Bay is an amazing place where the Pacific coast is covered with sparkling colored stones. It's the broken bottles, crockery and tiles, moulded by the waves to smooth kruglyashi.
In Soviet time in this beach trucks dumped junk glass bottles and waste from the local porcelain factory.
Over time, the waves have polished the pieces of glass to smooth kruglyashi.
Now to enjoy this coast, people pay small premiums.
From Vladivostok to the beach in about 30 minutes. Tourists are impressive shining beach, clear water and great views.
"Steklyanukha", as the shore is called by the locals, especially good on Sunny winter days.
Summer glass sparkles against the black volcanic sand.
A similar beach is in California in the early twentieth century there waste is dumped, then the dump decided to destroy and the garbage burned. In 1967, the territory was closed — nature did the rest.
