While the economy class of some domestic airlines is impossible to look at without a sense of impending disappointment, in the rest of the world it is this segment that is gaining momentum the fastest. The market of the Middle East and Asian airlines is developing most rapidly, where the competition is the highest, and hence the incentive to improve its most sought-after product.

For the last year and a half, Virgin America has not undergone any drastic changes - the air fleet is still in the same good condition, and on board airbuses you can still order food, drinks and even clothes for yourself or friends without getting up. Maybe that's why, against the general background, the company lost a little, but just enough to stay in the ranking for another year, or even longer.
9 China Airlines
Despite the fact that this airline is slightly higher in the rating than the two following it, it would still be more correct to assume that they are all on the same level. China Airlines itself made this list for the first time, thanks to the introduction of the Boeing 777-300ER, which has 10 rows of seats on board that fold out into a full-fledged place to sleep.
8. Virgin Atlantic
New aircraft 787 and A330 appeared this year and Virgin Atlantic. If you remember that the passengers of these airlines have always been delighted with their service, it is not surprising that the company has not moved a single step in the rankings. They did their job: entertainment systems, Wi-Fi, individual kits, welcome cocktails and, like a cherry on top, ice cream in the middle of the flight.
7 Emirates Airlines
Another new airline in the ranking is Emirates Airlines, which has decided to expand the list of its economy class destinations. Passengers, of course, are bribed by all sorts of benefits and promotions, spacious seats, regional cuisine and sockets for chargers right in the seats.
6 Japan Airlines
Japan Airlines is another newcomer to the ranking, adding to its fleet Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, whose cabins are rightfully considered one of the most spacious among two-aisle.
5. Oman Air
The least well-known Middle Eastern airline, although it lost a couple of positions, remained in the top five, and all thanks to the spaciousness inside the cabin, which is not found on any other carrier for the money. The potential for Oman Air is quite good, considering that all last year they diligently filled in the blanks on the route maps, trying to be represented in every direction.
4 Air New Zealand
It was this airline that was one of the first to equip its economy classes with SkyCouch interiors, including double folding sofa seats. In addition, in terms of “price-quality” ratio, this airline is closest to the business class, but good food on board, accompanied, of course, by New Zealand wines, is just a nice addition.
3 Cathay Pacific
Airline of the Year, according to Skytrax, Cathay Pacific and in economy class took the lead. And all due to new branding, increased space inside the liners, babysitting services on board, as well as an endless number of smaller, but pleasant details.
2 Singapore Airlines
By constantly investing in its products, Singapore Airlines has managed to raise its economy class, which many will have to reach for a very long time. High-speed Wi-Fi on board, comfortable 19-inch seats spaced at 32-inch intervals, excellent cuisine and a rich entertainment system library have found their loyal fans.
1. Etihad
Perhaps no one will argue that there is simply no best candidate for the first place among the best economy classes, and the point here is not only the replenishment of the fleet with new 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A380s. Very comfortable headrests of their chairs make it easy to fall asleep even in a sitting position, and 750 hours of entertainment content on an 11-inch screen will not let those who are awake get bored. Throw in noise-canceling headsets, full-flight WI-Fi, a four-course meal, and the only thing left to be desired is a slight increase in the standard 32-inch seat pitch.
