Tips from the famous Russian hero
Forty minutes for gymnastics and two hours for scuffle. Thanks to this issue, you will learn how the famous Russian hero conducts his training.
For most residents of Russia in the late 80s - mid-90s, one of the main entertainments was a VCR. When watching Hollywood action films, with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme, who quickly fell in love with our brother, neighbors from all over the entrance gathered in the apartment of the lucky owner of the miracle technology, and after the movie show the children imagined themselves as the heroes of "Kickboxer", "Bloodsport" for a long time or Terminator. The correspondent of "Reedus" spent one day with a man who seemed to have descended from the TV screen of that time and now lives quietly among us.
Cloudy, spring Moscow morning. Residents of one of the sleeping areas of Moscow are in a hurry to work, someone is walking their pets, not many people go for a morning jog, but without exception, all people keep their eyes on the giant, who, all alone, performs outlandish exercises more like intricate oriental dances. The famous Russian athlete Sergey Badyuk himself equipped a sports ground in his yard, where everyone can join his training or work out separately.

2. “I don’t care what the weather is like +30 or -30 outside. Every morning I come out here and do a certain set of exercises,” Badyuk says, sitting comfortably on a bench made by himself in the lotus position. - My day starts early: at 6 o'clock in the morning, getting up, then breakfast. Then I immediately go out into the yard and start my morning workout. First, for 40 minutes I do Qigong exercises (the ancient Chinese art of self-regulation of the body), based on working with breathing. Then I devote 1.5-2 hours to Taiji exercises (traditional Shaolin martial art) and karate kata. After the body has warmed up, I turn to Chinese exercises for stretching the legs. This technique is fundamentally different from everything that we have. You can call it more gentle. There are many examples when the Chinese at the age of 70-100 can easily sit on the twine. Morning workout takes me about 3-3.5 hours, and after that I go to the gym. Depending on my mood, I choose how the training will proceed. Either I go to boxing, or to the gym, or to wrestling.
3. When you first communicate with Badyuk, you might get the impression that this big, bearded, smiling person devotes all day to physical activity and sports, but this is far from the case.

Sergey deliberately shifts the set of exercises to the first half of the day in order to pay attention to work during the rest of the time, which is a significant part of Sergey Badyuk's life.
5. “Even while at work during breaks, I try to make time for physical exercises. I have a bunch of bands in the car that always help me work on my grip. Of course, I tried to combine all kinds of shooting at work with active activities, but such a combination is not always beneficial. During work and filming, you do not always feel in order in terms of psychology. It seems like you do nothing all day, and by the evening you can no longer utter a word from fatigue. If I have a day off, I can go out into the yard for the whole day and study until 12 at night. Before those shootings that take almost the whole day, I try to load as much as possible. Even with such a busy schedule, I try to fly to Thailand twice a year, at least for two weeks, and sometimes for a month.
6. Filming in various programs, TV and Internet projects, filming a movie, writing a book - are the second component of the life of Sergei Badyuk. Documentary films about the cultural and sports life of countries around the world, sometimes shot with sheer enthusiasm, are good textbooks for those who dream of connecting their lives with sports.
7. “Soon, on my Youtube channel, the premiere of the 4th, 5th and 6th parts of the film “The Country of Boxers”, which was filmed on our initiative, will take place. Volunteers and I travel abroad for our own money and start filming. If any channel wants to show our movie, we sell them the rights for 1 ruble. The first non-commercial project that I started shooting with my own money is called “Country of Heroes”. I believe that in our childhood there were many worthy examples of people who were worth emulating. With this film, we are trying to show the younger generation that there are such people among us now. Now I'm going to India to start filming a new project. We want to show people the other side of the places they like to go on vacation, be it Turkey, Thailand, Egypt or India. The name of this series of films is "Planet Shanti", otherwise "Planet of Peace and Harmony". Also now I am filming in the film by Pyotr Buslov "Motherland" and a remake of the film "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Profession".
8. Immediately after noon, Sergei Badyuk arrives at the gym in Luzhniki. Training at the Boxing Academy takes place side by side with well-known Russian sportsmen: Aleksey Sorokin, General Director for preparations for organizing the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and Vitaly Minakov, four-time world champion in sports sambo, also dedicate part of their day to playing sports.
9. “When I arrive at the gym, I start my workout with a light warm-up, jumping exercises and slowly move on to simulators and work with weights. The second part of the training I devote to sparring in the ring or on the carpet. Today the choice fell on boxing.
10. The training day of Sergey Badyuk, a big man in every sense, ends in 1.5 - 2 hours, and after that it's time to work. According to the athlete himself, the number of people who managed to get interested in a serious attitude to physical culture is already in the hundreds of people. No wonder. After talking with Sergey for several hours in a row, even the correspondent and photographer of "Reedus" had a desire to throw aside the camera and voice recorder and immediately start playing sports.
