Voronezh designer Andrey Kulikov on the eve of the coming year — according to the Chinese calendar, this is the year of the yellow earth dog — drew and published an unusual calendar for 2018, which was highly appreciated by Internet users.
The designer used the famous meme This is fine ("Everything is fine"), taken from a comic about a dog in a hat who sits in a room on fire and tries to convince himself that "everything is fine".
The meme about a dog in a hat became popular in 2016. Initially, it was a six-picture comic called The Pills Are Working ("Pills are Working") or simply "On Fire". The comic was published on January 9, 2013 on the website of artist Casey Green (KC Green) Gunshow Comics. It was the first two pictures that became a meme when they began to be actively published on image boards and sites like Reddit, Imgur and Tumblr.
