"The Art of LEGO" is a unique opportunity to get into an unusual and exciting world created from legendary cubes. The exhibition, which occupies more than 1,700 square meters of the 6th pavilion of the Expocenter, presents more than a hundred large-scale works of art, including favorite movie characters, cartoon characters, world-famous statues and famous paintings.
The whole exhibition is divided into several thematic halls: "Artist's Workshop", "World Culture", "Emotions and states" and others. In addition, there are organized game and entertainment areas for visitors of different ages.
The author of the exhibition is Nathan Sawaya, a popular artist from New York. He was the first to dismiss the idea of LEGO as exclusively a toy, using cubes to create his works. According to Nathan, the LEGO cube is a bridge connecting great art and pop culture.
"I started building out of LEGO to get rid of the stress I was constantly facing while working as a lawyer in Manhattan," says the artist. — I created sculptures out of children's toys, including making my self-portrait out of cubes. LEGO is a whole world, unique and complex, and you can see it for yourself!"
