The woman looked into her husband's phone and got three months in prison
An extraordinary incident occurred in the UAE. The woman violated the privacy law by transferring private data from her husband's phone to another medium. Now she will have to spend three months in prison. The public was stirred up by such news, because the issue of sexism of ship production and laws in the Emirates is being raised more and more often.
Source: Daily MailA resident of the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah caught his wife looking at the data on his phone. Of course, it is not reported anywhere what exactly his faithful managed to see. However, in any case, this information cost her dearly.
The man filed a lawsuit about the violation of his private life by his wife. The UAE has a law on the protection of private information. The court of the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah ruled that the woman was guilty.
According to the man, his wife did not just use a smartphone without asking. She copied something to another medium.
The victim also clarified that his significant other was looking through contacts on his phone while he was sleeping.
It turned out that the woman just copied the chat logs and photos to her smartphone. Apparently, she just suspected her husband of cheating.
However, the wife claims that her husband voluntarily provided her with a password and did not object when she looked into his smartphone.
UAE legislation is very strict about crimes in the virtual space, especially if they relate to private data.
One of the defenders of the woman on Twitter noted:
The rest were less tolerant:
Two lawyers who took part in the trial explained that according to local laws, viewing someone else's phone without permission is a criminal offense.
On the other hand, there remains the question of morality. Is it ethical for a husband to put his wife in prison? Or did the woman become a victim of her own stupidity?
