The story of the real father
The son asked his father: "Dad, will you take part in the marathon with me?" The father, despite heart problems, replied: "Yes." And they went through the whole marathon together. After that, they often participated in other marathons, the father always agreed with his son when he asked to go along the track together. One day the son asked his father: "Dad, maybe we can take part in Ironman?" And the father replied, "Yes," as always…
For those who do not know, Ironman (English "Iron Man") is the most difficult triathlon in the world. The highway is divided into 3 parts: first you need to run about 42 km along the coast, then 3.86 km by swimming across the ocean and finally 180.2 km by bike. Father and son completed this race together.

4. "If you weren't in great shape," one doctor told him, "you would have died 15 years ago." It turns out that in some way Dick and Rick saved each other.
5. Over the past 15 years, they have completed 212 triathlons and 4 times the 15-hour Ironman… In an interview, Dick was called a hero, he only replied: "I just love my family."

8. The Hoyt team took part in the infamous Boston Marathon in 2013, but did not reach the finish line, as the organizers stopped them after the bombs exploded - they had one and a half kilometers left.
9. And on April 21, 2014, the Hoyt team finished at the Boston Marathon, having previously announced that this was their last marathon.
