The story of a smiling kitty who almost lost her jaw and life
In October last year, the Dutchess cat ("Duchess") got into the Adobe Animal Hospital and Clinic veterinary clinic in Texas. She was hit by a car and as a result of the accident, her jaw was broken. The veterinarians of the clinic decided to try their luck and save the animal.

Source: BuzzfeedAccording to an employee of the clinic, Crystal Tate, usually cats in the condition in which Dutchess got to them are simply put to sleep.
But the veterinarians decided to try to save the animal and fix her broken jaw with a pin. To do this, it was necessary to remove almost all the cat's teeth.
Dutchess successfully underwent surgery and subsequent months of recovery. The cat became famous thanks to her unique smile, which appeared on her muzzle due to a deformity of the jaw.
Tate got used to Dutchess and took her home. Since November, Tate has been documenting the cat's recovery process in detail on a separate Facebook page.
Dutchess settled into the Tate house and fit into the company of other veterinarian animals.
Although the cat's jaw will remain permanently deformed, Tate claims that in the future it will be possible to resort to reconstruction surgery.
"We're still getting to know her character and helping her live a new life, there's no other way," says Tate. "Her jaw is deformed and will remain so for the rest of her life, but it didn't break her spirit."
