The sexless man Salvia, admiring and at the same time frightening with his images
Among the thousands of bright and extraordinary personalities that the Internet is full of, there are hardly at least a dozen of those who could compete in a flight of fancy with a man named Salvia. Yes, just a person, because this drag queen denies her involvement with any gender. Salvia creates incredible images using complex makeup, self-made costumes and, of course, her imagination.
For convenience, we will call Salvia in the feminine gender, although the drag queen herself would hardly like it. The model has gender dysphoria — psychological stress in transgender people, because of which a person cannot accept the gender status of a woman or a man.
It is this uncertainty that helps Salvia in working on her images — they become a way for the model to be who she feels. For the viewer inexperienced in the vicissitudes of sexology and modern art, what makes drag queen seems incomprehensible, frightening, but at the same time fascinatingly interesting.
It seems that Salvia is a being from another dimension who somehow found himself among us. You don't need to be particularly observant to notice that natural motives play a big role in the work of drag queens. Salvia draws inspiration from the forms that nature offers. Animals, insects, birds, reptiles, flowers — details of representatives of flora and fauna are noticeable in each work of the model.
Salvia herself in an interview explains her craving for biological forms by the fact that her childhood was spent in a small village in North Wales — one of the few places in the UK where nature has remained almost untouched until now.
Walking through the hills and forests surrounding her house, Salvia absorbed visual images of living creatures in order to later transform them into her fantasies. But, getting to know the world around her, she could not figure out her inner self and understand who she is in this life.
The epiphany came only when the childhood years were far behind. Salvia was helped by the TV show "RuPaul's Royal Races", which tells about the drag queen. Having become a regular viewer of the program, she finally began to understand that not having a gender is as normal as being a man or a woman.
This had its advantages. Unlike ordinary people, Salvia had the opportunity to be who she wanted, and to change her image and inner state several times a day at will. A drag queen could afford to become not a person at all, but a fantastic creature, looking at which the question of his gender came later than anything.
The incredible images of Salvia are the result of long and painstaking work. With rare exceptions, drag queen prepares her own costumes and accessories, as well as applies makeup. According to her, the preparation for the shooting can take from two to three hours.
Yes, Salvia comes out of her images to live in the world of people and then looks like a slightly strange, but pretty blonde girl.
