Traditionally (and often very rightly) pit bulls are considered extremely aggressive and dangerous dogs. Sophie Gamand, a photographer from France, decided to show their bright side by shooting a series of portraits of dogs called "The Power of Flowers".

Sophie Gamand shot all the heroes of her portraits in an animal shelter.

At the same time, she admits: at first it was difficult for her to overcome the fear of these dogs.

Gradually, Sophie Gamand managed to cope with distrust — even though she was attacked by a large dog as a child.

She hopes that people will be able to overcome their prejudices about pit bulls.
