The photographer removed the phones from the pictures to show how far we are from each other

In the modern world, electronic gadgets take away more from us communication with loved ones than they give it. Eric Pickersgiel, a photographer from New York, became seriously interested in this problem. Once in a cafe, he witnessed a family scene: dad and two daughters were sitting at the table, buried in their phones, while mom was looking out the window sad and lonely. After that, Eric decided to raise the problem of what he saw and created a photo project called Removed. He photographed people in everyday life, but at the same time "took away" all their electronics.
