The idea of this photo project came to Zed Nelson in 1996, when his friend's wife was expecting a child. The photographer decided to take a picture of the family in an updated composition and repeat this frame every year. He carefully planned his project, shot every year on the same day, on the same background, with the same lighting. Thus, nothing distracts the viewer from the main idea, observing the process of growing up, aging, and the passage of time. The resulting pictures really make you think.
