The launch of the EARTH7 planetoid took place
S7 Airlines launched the first real planetary rover designed to explore the "best of the planets" as part of the eponymous image campaign and once again confirmed the title of a creative and technological air carrier.
Humanity has built 12 planetary rovers since 1970 to discover the unknown… And if earlier the purpose of the study was other planets, this time experts approached the concept of "unknown" from a completely different, one might say, "terrestrial" side. By a strange irony, our own planet for many people remains as unexplored as others. But the Earth is so beautiful!

S7, in collaboration with a team of roboticists and other specialists in new technologies, has developed a device called EARTH7. The company did not disclose his exact location. It is known that the device at the time of "testing" was not in Russia, 5000 kilometers from the Moscow control center.
A total of 12 lunar rovers were built between 1970 and 2016, while the launch of three of them did not take place.
The first planetoid, Lunokhod-1, was delivered to the surface of the Moon on November 17, 1970 by the Luna-17 automatic interplanetary station. It was intended to study the features of the lunar surface, radioactive and X-ray cosmic radiation on the Moon, the chemical composition and properties of the soil. It worked successfully until September 14, 1971, after which it went out of service.
Today, several lunar rovers, two rovers and even one Venus rover are in development (it is planned to launch it to Venus in 2027).
EARTH7 is controlled remotely using a wristband. Everyone could try himself as a coordinator of the apparatus — the control center was located on the territory of ArtPlay. EARTH7 literally obeys the movements of the hand — a special bracelet is put on the "helmsman", which is calibrated individually for each new manager. With the movements of one hand, a person directs the planetoid forward, gives the command to turn around and signals that the device should lift an object from the Earth's surface.
EARTH7 is a futuristic experiment that has become a reality. One hundred people were able to take part in the research "mission". The task was to control the planetary rover and detect three terrestrial objects or phenomena in a certain period of time. For the absolute success, S7 Airlines gave participants tickets for two in any direction of its route network.
According to Tatiana Fileva, Deputy CEO of S7 Group, the essence of the EARTH7 experiment and launch is to inspire people to travel, because this is the best way to explore their home planet. It is not yet known what will become of the research apparatus in the future.
