The Japanese invented "electronic makeup"

Categories: News | Technology |

The Japanese project Omote introduced the technology of dynamic projection onto a human face, or simply put, electronic makeup. The two-minute video shows how the girl's face changes in real time using this technology. There is little technical information yet. But judging by the video, in order to implement a projection show on a human face, first the contours of the face with all its features are scanned using a 3D laser system, and then, tracking small control points on the face, the system determines the angle of rotation and tilt of the face, adjusting the projection image to fit it. actual position. True, it is not yet known how such a system will work if the model begins to move in space.

The Omote project is led by Japanese artist and designer Nobumichi Asai, who previously worked on a Subaru Legacy commercial and designed projection installations for Subaru.
