56-year-old diver Michael Packard (Michael Packard) from the US state of Massachusetts was hospitalized after being in the mouth of a whale.

Packard has been fishing for lobsters for 40 years. He dives in and searches for them on the sandy bottom. At this time, his partner watches the air bubbles rising from the scuba tank.

On June 11, Michael was fishing for lobsters in the waters of Cape Cod Bay at a depth of about 14 meters, and according to the diver:

According to his estimates, he was in the whale's mouth for about 30 seconds, but continued to breathe because the air tank was still with him.

At first, Packard thought he had been swallowed by a white shark. But he didn't find any teeth on the creature that attacked him, and he didn't feel any serious injuries. So I realized that I was inside the whale. The diver began to move intensively, after which the whale surfaced, shook its head and threw it out of its mouth.

Packard's partner dragged him into the boat and took him to the shore, calling for rescuers and paramedics on the radio. The diver was taken to a local hospital. Doctors, finding no life-threatening injuries, discharged him a few hours later.

In general, humpback whales are not aggressive. Most likely, this whale swallowed the diver by accident when trying to get more fish into its mouth.
