A video clip with a rapid acceleration of the Tesla Semi electric tractor appeared on the network. This is the first "live" video of a novelty created by businessman Elon Musk. Previously, the outstanding characteristics of the car were demonstrated only with the help of computer graphics. The roar of the Tesla Semi engine was compared to the sound from science fiction films.
The video, which, apparently, was filmed on the territory of the Tesla plant in Hottorn immediately after the presentation, allows you to visually assess the dynamic characteristics of the car.
The video shows how a person from the queue gets into the cab of the truck, after which he quickly picks up speed. I must say that the acceleration dynamics is impressive, especially for a truck.
Relatively recently, an official presentation of an electric van from Tesla Motors took place, but the American manufacturer has not provided real arrivals or test drives up to this point.
The new Tesla Semi truck was equipped with four electric motors — one for each wheel of the rear axles. The power reserve of the model with a loaded trailer at a cruising speed of 96 km / h reaches 800 kilometers.
During the presentation, the head of Tesla, Elon Musk, said that a car without a semi-trailer can accelerate up to 96 km/ h in 5 seconds. With a cargo of 36 tons, which is the maximum allowed value in the United States, the car takes 20 seconds to accelerate.
The driver's cab is also different. The driver's seat is located in the middle of the cab, and the car itself is equipped with an autopilot. According to Internet users, the car looks like from movies about the future.
The release of the Tesla Semi is planned to begin in 2019. The price of the novelty is still unknown.
