The dog, disfigured by the disease, did not believe happiness when attention was paid to him
A dog named Phoenix was found on the street in a terrifying condition — disfigured, emaciated and dehydrated. Volunteers of the Paws and Claws Animal care center rescued an unfortunate, crippled dog and immediately took it to a veterinary clinic.
This special boy was noticed on the streets all alone and in a terrible state. The emaciated, disfigured and dehydrated dog shunned people and looked completely different from everyone else.A dog named Phoenix was found on the streets in Oklahoma, USA, all alone and in terrible condition.
The emaciated, disfigured and dehydrated dog was afraid of people and looked completely different from everyone else. Kind people took him to the veterinary clinic.
The staff of the Family Animal Medicine rescue center gladly accepted Phoenix, but at first they did not understand why the dog looked so frightening — either it was the result of abuse and life on the streets, or a consequence of the disease.
It turned out that the dog has a strong autoimmune disease — systemic lupus erythematosus, which damages the skin and mucous membranes.
Coupled with life on the streets and possible ill-treatment of a person (which experts do not deny), the disease has only worsened.
For treatment, Phoenix was transported to another state, to the best specialists in the treatment of skin diseases. There he was under the round-the-clock supervision of caring staff, and quickly went on the mend.
Now Phoenix lives on overexposure with an employee of the rescue center. He gained weight, his skin began to heal.
Despite everything that this boy has experienced, he enjoys life, barks fervently, chases balls, plays tug of war and sleeps on his favorite dog bed.
A special "grin" will remain on the Phoenix's muzzle forever, and he will be able to walk only with sunscreen and clothes.
All the staff sincerely loved this doggie. He has a wonderful character — he is kind, playful, obedient and loyal boy, despite his shortcomings.

A good boy on a walk
The employees hope to find the best, loving and understanding family for him, who will accept him and love him for who he is. Let's wish Phoenix to find a loving home soon!
