The 105-year-old woman had no children, and then she became a mother to 300 trees
Saalumarada Timakka is a 105—year-old woman (yes, she does not look at her age in any way), who still inspires with her example of love for our planet. Saalumarada has planted 300 trees since she and her now deceased husband realized after 25 years of marriage that they would not have children. A couple originally from South India tried to cope with grief in their own way - they grew trees and cared for them, and most importantly — loved them as if they were members of their family.
The woman believes that it was her destiny not to have children. After all, that's why she and her husband decided to plant and grow so many trees and treated them as if they were their children. These words are especially touching against the background of far from favorable conditions for growing plants in this area, where drought reigns and it rarely rains. For example, to water the trees, the couple had to carry water for several kilometers, and to protect them from animals, the husband planted thorny bushes.

Source: My Modern MetTimakka's dedication did not go unnoticed. The woman founded the Saalumarada Timakka International Foundation, which deals with environmental issues, supports schools, education and helps those in need.
But after so many years surrounded by her plant children, Timakka could not stand it and adopted a boy. Now, finally, there is someone to take care of her.
