Somehow the American Christopher Herwig came to St. Petersburg to participate in the 2002 bicycle race. History is silent about what the first stop he saw was, but he was really overwhelmed. He traveled more than 30,000 km, visited 13 countries, and documented absolutely fantastic masterpieces of small-scale architecture from its heyday.
