"Show him it's a woman's world": Lebanese photographer replaced women in old sexist ad with men

Categories: Society |

Lebanese Eli Rezkallah created a series of fictional advertisements "In a parallel universe". He took real American posters from the 1950s and replaced women with men to emphasize the sexism characteristic of the era of ideal housewives in the United States. Rezkalla conceived this series thanks to his American relatives: at the festive table they discussed that women are better at cooking and other "feminine duties".
