The festival has become part of the cycle of street city festivals "Moscow Seasons" and runs until August 7 inclusive. Free master classes, concerts and performances of street theaters are waiting for the guests of the holiday every day. The jam Festival is held for the third year in a row.
Four million people have already visited it, more than 25 tons of jam have been sold during the first ten days of the festival. Here you will find not only classic strawberry or raspberry jam, but also rare and unusual flavors — lavender, lilac, dandelion, jam from cones, chili pepper, rosemary, onion jam, bacon jam and much more.
Jam was brought from 15 countries, including Israel, Italy, Greece, Serbia, Morocco, Andorra, India, China, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, as well as from 35 Russian regions.
Each site of the festival is dedicated to the food and culture of different countries of the world. Fairs are not only thematically decorated (for example, on the site "Russia — England" you can find a smaller copy of Big Ben, and on the site "Russia - Holland" you can take pictures in giant klompas — traditional Dutch wooden shoes), but also the assortment of jam is selected so as to taste this or that country. So, at the Russia — China site in Kamergersky Lane, you can try Chinese and Korean quince and ginger jam. And at the Russia — Greece site, visitors are offered jam made from olives, walnuts and grapes.
In addition to jam, other dishes are sold at the festival. For example, on Pushkin Square you can try Bavarian pastries, in Novopushkinsky Square — Dutch street food, and on Tverskoy Boulevard - Danish donuts with ice cream.
"Moscow Jam" continued the good tradition of citywide festival quests, opening the "Fruit All-Around" on July 22. The competition will last until the end of the festival. The prizes in it will be jars of jam of various varieties. Each item of the quest consists of two parts: sports tasks and tasks for knowledge and intelligence. For passing both tests at each site, the participant receives a sticker in the form of a fruit.
As part of the festival, an extreme park was also opened on Bolotnaya Square, where not only Ilya Averbukh's amazing show "Pinocchio" takes place, but also free classes with everyone. The arsenal includes roller skates, skateboard and BMX, as well as workshops on street and modern dance. By the way, you can also pass the TRP standards here. The drive-park will work for two months and will receive over a thousand people every day.
The role of Pinocchio in Averbukh's play is performed by the three-time champion of Russia in freestyle slalom among children Daniil Vornovitsky. In the role of Malvina — 11-time champion of Russia, Europe and the world in freestyle slalom among juniors Sofia Bogdanova. Also participating in the production are an illusionist from Cirque du Soleil, circus performers, musicians and a roller theater team.
Do you like banks, but you don't have enough of them? It does not matter, within the framework of the festival there is an action "bank crossing" by analogy with book crossing, in which everyone can take part. Those who want to get rid of unnecessary glass jars will be able to hand them over, and those who need them will be able to take them away. Here it is, happiness.
The festival is a great occasion to walk around the city, take part in a culinary or creative master class and, of course, try some unusual jam! The map of all venues and the schedule of events is here.
